What is idolatry?

Is it simply limited to the religious worship of a self-determined token or a surrogate of the Creator?

Could it possibly refer to an overzealous disposition toward an earthbound idea, activity, pursuit, item or person(s)?

What occupies most of your time, resources or mind?

Why?

Boredom? Worry? Comfort? Fanaticism? Ease? Hope? Futility? Tasks? Responsibilities? Yesterday? Tomorrow? …?
