Must you be liked?

Why?

Are you afraid of being apart from the herd?

Might the herd be a liability instead of a safe space? Might they be misguided about the things of the world?

Is not striving for the herd’s approval a heavy burden?

Could you imagine relieving yourself from the weight of the herd on your mind and soul?

Are you afraid solitude, of the quiet? Afraid of moral solitude, of persecution and ridicule of your character?

Might solitude provide you your greatest path to peace, to God, to understanding?

Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls.
